Activating both switches simultaneously will cause both the door and the Star Coin become temporarily inaccessible. For the right switch, see Star Coin 1 below. The switch on the left activates blue platforms which appear set by set and also makes the door to the next area appear. Left Door: This door leads to a room with a lone Boo and two ? Switches at the two ends of the room. The two Boos in the room will then turn gold and begin to move away from Mario while producing coins. There is a Gold Ring above Mario's starting position which can be obtained by using Raccoon Mario to fly to the top platform with the Gold Ring. There are two elevated doors, one on the left and another on the right which leads to different areas. They lead them to the final Star Coin.Mario begins in the basement of the level, where two moving ? Blocks can be found, the left one containing a Super Leaf. The player must hit the P Switch, then follow the Blue Coins. Mario should ride this platform to an area with a ? Block and a Brick Block. At the platform's highest point, there is another platform. Star Coin 3: After the checkpoint, the player must ride the first platform up.The player can safely get this Star Coin by using the Red Koopa Troopa that is on one of the platforms the player should jump on the Red Koopa Troopa, and then throw its shell at the Star Coin. However, it is very difficult to get this Star Coin by normal means. Star Coin 2: Just before the checkpoint.Continuing on normally will take Mario to the Star Coin. Star Coin 1: When Mario is on the third moving platform after the Roulette Coin Block, the player should look out for another platform above him and jump onto it.Enemies found here include Koopa Troopas (some walk about on the moving platforms), Paratroopas which block the player's path when jumping from platform to platform, and Fuzzies found in the second half of the level. A Roulette Coin Block can be found in the beginning of the level. The main power up here is the Super Leaf, which can be found in one of the first ? Blocks and ? Blocks after the checkpoint.
Platforms before the checkpoint fall into the abyss after riding on them while platforms after the checkpoint cross onto different tracks. Moving platforms which follow tracks make up most of the level which Mario must use to cross the large abyss.
